Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. It is a time for reflection, reverence, and anticipation of the Paschal Mystery, which includes the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
The liturgy begins with the blessing and distribution of the palms followed by the procession (in the 4th century tradition) representing the Lord's triumphal entry into Jerusalem a week before the Resurrection. The clergy and people process to the church singing Psalms or the traditional, "All Glory, Laud and Honour." The Mass which follows includes the Passion from one of the Gospels.
