Welcome back one of our favorites — and one of Plumas County's own.
Danny Horton is a singer/songwriter living in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains. He has been playing professionally since 1995, toured around the globe, and reached number 8 on the European charts while signed to Tiefdruck/Universal — before returning home to Blairsden/Graeagle right here in Plumas County.
His soulful voice has been compared to Chris Stapleton mixed with Johnny Cash — weathered vagabond one moment, smooth crooner the next, and hootin' and hollerin' the next. His sound pulls from Classic Country, Folk, and Classic Rock, with just enough punk rock edge to keep things interesting. He plays a Martin guitar while kicking his own bass drum and snare — a one-man rhythm section with a whole lot of soul.

Each year we send our youth to Hume Lake Christian Camps. This Yardsale is how we raise a good chunk of their funds for camp! Anything is helpful! There will also be a bake sale to raise funds for our littles to go to camp as well!

Her singles have climbed the Texas Red Dirt charts, with "Hey There Cowboy" peaking in the Texas Top 10 and "This Ain't My First Rodeo" sitting in the Texas Top 5 for over five weeks. She's been named to COWGIRL Magazine's 30 Under 30 and honored as Singer of the Year at the Women of the West Gala at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth.

Watkins Pet Supply will be hosting our 5th annual Rattlesnake Aversion Training class featuring Snakeout on Sunday, June 14th.
The goal of the class is to teach dogs to recognize and avoid rattlesnakes by their scent, sight and sound. We want to make sure your dogs are safe while out hiking, hunting or traveling. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Reservations are required. Class times are every 15 minutes starting at 8:30am. Cost is $140 per dog. A $20 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. Please call or stop by to get on the schedule. 530-258-2525.

It’s the 38th Annual Street Rod Extravaganza at Chester Community Park, September 12th, 2026 from 9:00am to 2:30pm sponsored by the Lake Alanor Elks Lodge.
We anticipate a great turnout of car enthusiasts displaying a wide variety of models and vintages as well as car ‘fans’ enjoying a day out.
Adding to the festivities, there will be “Taco Night” on Friday at the Elks Lodge from 5:30 to 7:30pm; a BBQ Lunch at the event from 11:00am to 2:00pm with beer, wine, water and sodas; a silent auction, free popcorn and face painting for children and drawings for prizes for those displaying their car(s).
Support has been great with 25 generous sponsors. We have added a unique selection process for awards having each of the 15-trophy sponsors selecting a winning car, which will add to the excitement. Other categories will win one of the SRE one-of-a-kind trophies.
