OUR FIRST ANNUAL INNERSHINE WOMEN’S COLLECTIVE WELLNESS RETREAT WAS BORN FROM A DESIRE TO SUPPORT AND NURTURE OUR SACRED SISTERHOOD. IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THREE DAYS OF RADICAL SELF-CARE SURROUNDED BY A COMMUNITY OF WOMEN WHO ASPIRE TO SHOW UP IN THIS WORLD AS THE BRIGHTEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES.
OFFERINGS:
Yoga
Yoga, a moving mediation practice, originated almost 5,000 years ago in India and is now practiced worldwide by all walks of life to strengthen the body and quiet the mind. Each morning, we’ll begin with a group yoga class to get our blood flowing and open our minds and hearts to receive the day’s blessings.
Breathwork
Breathwork is a powerful, active meditation practice involving controlled breathing exercises to reduce stress and anxiety and improve both mental and physical health. Breathwork can shift our nervous system from the flight-or-fight response to a more calm and conscious state of being so you can live a full and present life.
Sound Healing
Sound healing is an ancient meditative practice that involves a variety of musical instruments that, when played, create healing vibrations and frequencies to release energetic blockages within a person to heal mind, body, and spirit.
Massage
Practiced by a licensed and professional Massage Therapist, massage can relieve pain, heal injuries of the soft muscle tissue and reduce stress and anxiety. In addition, massage can promote relaxation and produce an overall sense of wellbeing.
Meditation
In its many forms, Meditation is a practice to strengthen and train the awareness and attention of the mind. Some meditation requires you to focus on a singular thought or mantra, while other types of meditation aim to achieve an empty mind, void of any thoughts or feelings while tapping into the subconscious. Meditation is practiced worldwide in one form or another to reduce stress and anxiety and create a more balanced and calm state of being.
Reiki
The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Reiki Therapy, as performed by a Reiki Master using soft touch and moving their hands above the body, transfers vital energy throughout the body to promote healing.

Most of our cabins have single Queen beds with futon couches either in the bedroom or in the living room (2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11). Offering more privacy for guests traveling together, a few of our cabins have two bedrooms, each with its own Queen bed (1, 4, 10). The one-bedroom cabin cost includes one retreat ticket, and the two-bedroom cabins are priced to include two retreat tickets. Each cabin is equipped with a fully stocked kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.
Other options for “glamping” include staying in one of our vintage RVs or canvas tents, or bringing your own RV and staying in our FHU RV park. This event is organized in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day – the largest volunteer event in the state. The Sierra produces 60% of California’s water supply and supplies the state with 50% of its hydroelectric energy. Unfortunately, our waterways are impacted by waste and other pollutants making their way downstream.
Please spend the morning with us in Westwood, CA, helping us clean up our community to protect our valuable rivers during this year’s Great Sierra River Cleanup.
Event Time: Saturday, September 17, 2022; 9 am - 12 pm
Starting Location: Westwood Visitor Center, 3rd & Ash Streets Westwood, CA 96137
Contact us at (530) 284-1022 or ibledsoe@sierrainstitute.us
We will provide volunteers with trash bags and gloves for the cleanup. Please bring water, sunscreen, a hat, or anything else you might need for a morning outdoors!
Both our dinner venue (local eatery Carol's Cafe is catering this year's dinner at the West Almanor Picnic Grounds) and the cemetery escaped the inferno of the Dixie Fire, and we look forward to gathering once again to uncover Plumas County history.
Sorry - this event is SOLD OUT!
