Join us for our annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular over Lake Almanor. The show begins after sundown.The 4th of July Fireworks show over Lake Almanor is a 25+ year tradition. The show is shot from a barge off of the tip of the Peninsula and brings a spectacular end to a day of celebrations. The show begins after sunset and is best seen in a boat near the Peninsula or from the west shore of the lake. There are many, more distant, viewing spots along the East Shore.

The Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 42nd Annual Chester 4th of July Fun Run will take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The one mile run/walk will start on the Collins Pine lawn and proceed down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House.

Join our community's annual 4th of July celebration by participating in this year's 4th of July Parade. Visitors begin to line-up early. Many shops and sights along Main Street will be open. The 2023 4th of July Parade begins at 11:00am at Collins Pine Park and rolls down Main Street Chester to the Meadow. 2023 Grand Marshal

It's 50's Diner Night at the Elks on May 19th. Come and enjoy a hot dog or hamburger dinner which includes French fries and homemade coleslaw. Hot dog meal is $8, hamburger $10. Sides available for additional charge including root beer floats. This price includes tax and tip!!! While enjoying your meal. Our DJ will be playing 50's music to dance or sing along with. A prize will be awarded for the best 50's attire. Doors open at 5, dinner service begins at 5:30. The bar will be open for our guests over the age of 21.7/22/2023
The Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 5th annual Lake Almanor Poker Paddle will take place at Plumas Pines Resort starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Enjoy a wonderful morning on the water as you paddle a course, collect poker chips and compete at the finish line for cash prizes for the best poker hands. Two courses will showcase the beauty and tranquility of Lake Almanor with amazing views of Lassen Peak. Distances are 5 and 8 miles and include support boats, catered lunch, cool swag and cash prizes.

The Lake Almanor Grebe Festival has been hosted by Plumas Audubon Society from 2016-2018 and was resurrected in 2022. We will be hosting a 1.5 day event with the opportunity to attend pontoon tours, kayak tours, bird walks, and attend a symposium with presentations from local environmental organizations. This event will be open to all ages and will require registration. We plan to charge a ticket fee depending on the type of activities one wishes to attend. We are still in the planning phase for this event, but were hoping to reserve the date on the calendar. If we could provide you with additional information soon for the event page, we would love to be in touch about that. As of now, much of the important information is TBD! Best,
